Online Talk#28: "Pond Time: Landscapes Connected through Art and Culture" ―Thinking through Yatsu-numa about Human-Natur

　沼の時間：アートと文化がつなぐランドスケープ」と題し、埼玉県比企丘陵に点在する谷津沼を事例に、人と自然の関係性を再考する新たな視座を提案します。沼は単なる湿地ではなく、環境・文化・社会が複雑に交差する場であり、地域の記憶を蓄積し続ける動的なランドスケープです。

　本講演では、アート、伝統文化、生態系、農業、信仰など多角的な視点から沼の価値を探求し、特にアーティストや地域住民との協働から見えてきた「暮らしと自然が共鳴する風景」の可能性を紹介します。

　具体的には、住民参加型ワークショップ、アーティスト・イン・レジデンス、子どもたちとの共創プロセスなどの事例を通じて、アートが環境問題の可視化、地域記憶の継承、そして世代間対話のきっかけとなる力を検証します。

　最後に、「沼の文化的コモンズ」として展開するPONDALIZEの活動実績と、今後の展望や他地域との連携可能性にも言及し、環境人文学と実践的な地域活動がつながる新たな地平を探ります。

The lecture "Pond Time: Landscapes Connected through Art and Culture” presents a new perspective on reconsidering the relationship between humans and nature, using Yatsu-Numa in the Hiki Hills of Saitama Prefecture as a case study. Ponds are not merely wetlands but dynamic landscapes where environment, culture, and society intersect, continuously accumulating the region's memories.

In this presentation, I will explore the value of ponds from multiple angles—including art, traditional culture, ecosystems, agriculture, and spiritual beliefs—with a particular focus on the possibilities that emerge from the collaborative efforts of artists and residents in creating landscapes where daily life and nature resonate together.
