Online Talk#34: "Cosmological, Ecological, Personal
—Explored through Art Practice"
Speaker: PARE-ANASTASIADOU Chloe (Artist, Assistant Professor, Department of Cultural and Creative Studies)
How can art practices open up knowledge production toward more situated, affective, and playful forms that attend to the more-than-human? And how do critical epistemologies expand the ethics of visual arts? Through this artist talk and drawing on specific projects, Pare-Anastasiadou will present her practice, grounded in astronomical and geological cosmologies of scientific and local mythologies of Japan, Greece, and their transnational expansions. She creates sculptural installations, workshops, and writings, where site-specific woven structures often coexist with found micro-objects and stories, revealing how the personal is intertwined with the stellar and the planetary. Installations experienced through touch and narrative, become sites where sensorial, relational, and intimate encounters with objects emerge.
